Lakshmi General Store

Lakshmi General Store is located at 101 Mrs Palya, right near Nandi Durga Road in the Jayamahal Extension part of Bangalore. We are very close to the Gulabi Girls Primary & High School, so we get a lot of students and parents coming in throughout the day. The shop is a small, functional space filled with all sorts of things. You’ll find school supplies like pens and notebooks alongside the regular groceries like bread, eggs, and biscuits. It can get pretty loud and busy when the school bell rings and children rush in for sweets or a quick drink. We try to keep things organized, but with so many small items, it can be a challenge. The shop has been here for years, and we’ve seen a lot of kids grow up and move on. It’s a local spot where neighbors often stop to chat about things happening in the area while they pick up their milk in the morning. We don't have fancy lighting or modern decor, just old wooden shelves that have held a lot of stock over time. Sometimes we run out of change, so we have to ask customers for coins, which is just part of the daily routine here. It’s a simple life running a shop in this part of Bangalore, and we are just happy to be a small part of the neighborhood’s daily rhythm. We stay open quite late to make sure everyone gets what they need before heading home.
