Krishna Uphar

We are located near the A H Wadia School on J P Road, right in the Kedar Chawl area off Bannerghatta Road. Being so close to the school means we hear the bell ring all day long. Krishna Uphar is a busy little spot, especially when the students are coming or going. We start our day while it’s still dark out, getting the water boiling for coffee and tea. The steam makes the windows foggy in the early morning. We have a small kitchen area where we prep all the food. It gets pretty cramped when there are three of us back there. We use big metal plates and have to wash them constantly because they pile up fast in the sink. The street outside is always packed with rickshaws and buses, so there is a lot of honking. Sometimes we take a break and sit on the stools near the entrance just to watch the traffic go by on J P Road. We have to be careful with the wet floor because someone could slip if we don't put the sign out during the morning rush. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to do it yet. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure everyone gets their food without waiting too long. It’s a loud, busy place to work, but the day goes by fast when you stay on your feet.
