Krishna Steel Center

Our shop, Krishna Steel Center, is tucked away in the Lord Krishna Complex. If you know where BVNH School is, we are right near there on 3rd Cross, 4th Main in Krishnarajpuram. It can get pretty noisy when the school lets out, with all the kids and the traffic. The shop is filled with all sorts of steel items. We have racks and shelves piled high with utensils, containers, and bigger pieces too. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s a bit dusty and the aisles are narrow. We spend a lot of time moving things around to find exactly what a customer wants. Sometimes people come in looking for a specific pot or a storage box, and we have to dig through the back to find it. My hands usually smell like metal by the end of the day. We’ve been in this complex for years, so we know most of the neighbors. The lighting isn't the best, but we know where everything is kept. It’s a family-run kind of feel here. We open up early and stay until the evening. We don't do much advertising; people just know we are here. Sometimes it's slow and we just sit by the entrance and watch people go by. Other times, it's a mad rush of people getting stuff for their kitchens. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough to not complain. Most of the stuff we sell is meant to last for many years in someone's home.
