Krishna Plywood

Our shop is situated on Adugodi BTS Main Road at 22 / 23, and you can usually smell the wood from a few doors down. We have stacks of plywood and laminates reaching almost to the ceiling, which makes the place feel a bit like a maze. It’s a dusty environment because of all the cutting and moving of sheets, so we are constantly sweeping up sawdust from the floor. The counter is made of a thick piece of scrap wood we found in the back. The main road is always busy with buses, and the noise is something we’ve just learned to live with over time. We get a lot of carpenters coming in early in the morning to pick up materials for their projects, so the start of the day is usually our busiest time. We don’t have a fancy showroom; it’s more of a functional warehouse where people can come and see the different grades of wood we have available. We use a lot of chalk to mark the sheets and we have an old desk where we write out the bills by hand. It’s heavy work, moving those large sheets around, but it keeps us fit. We’ve been in this spot for quite a long time and we know most of the people who work in the nearby shops. It’s a simple business and we just know our stock well.
