Konark Vegetarian

We've been here on Residency Road for a while now. If you know this part of town near Field Marshal Cariappa Road, you know how busy it gets. It’s a lot of noise and traffic outside our door at number 50. Inside, we just focus on the food. We’re a vegetarian place, so it’s mostly about vegetables, rice, and those daily spices we use. The morning starts early. We have to get the kitchen going way before the first person walks in. Most of us have been working here long enough to know the regulars by their faces, even if we don't always know their names. It’s not a fancy setup. We have tables, chairs, and a kitchen that stays hot all day. Sometimes the rain pours down on Residency Road and everyone crowds inside to stay dry while they eat. It gets a bit cramped then, but we manage. We don't spend much time on decorations or anything like that. We just make sure the floors are swept and the food is ready. It’s just a normal day-to-day business. People come in, they eat their meal, and then they head back out into the Bangalore traffic. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but our spot stays pretty much the same. It’s just us doing what we do every single day. We are here from morning until the late evening when things finally quiet down.
