Down here at Marathalli Junction, things are always moving fast. We are right in the middle of all that Marathalli traffic and noise. Our focus is purely on ice making. It’s a heavy job, lifting the blocks and keeping the water running into the molds. The machines we use are old but they still work fine as long as we keep them oiled and maintained. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. It’s a workspace through and through. You’ll see the trucks pulling in and out all day to load up. The noise from the junction is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two. We work long hours because the demand for ice doesn't really stop, especially for the local markets and the restaurants nearby. It’s a lot of manual labor, and we often go home tired and cold from handling the ice all day. We’ve been at this junction for years, so we know most of the drivers and the other workers around here. We don't do anything special, just freeze water and sell it. Sometimes the pipes freeze up or a belt breaks, and then we have to spend the afternoon fixing it instead of producing. That's just how this business goes. It is not glamorous, but it is necessary for the town. We just keep our heads down and do the work every single day.
