Kiran Steels

Our place is on the M S Ramaiah Main Road in Mathikere, right across from the K E B Workshop. It’s a very busy stretch of road with students and hospital traffic all day long. We have a small yard where we keep the steel stock. It’s usually a bit disorganized with different lengths of rebar and sheets leaning against the walls. We don't have a fancy storefront, just a gate and a small room where we sit. Most of our day is spent dealing with local contractors or people doing small home repairs who need a few pieces of metal. The noise from the workshop across the street is constant, but you get used to it after a week. We have to be careful when moving long pieces of steel so we don't hit the parked bikes outside. It’s a lot of physical labor, and my hands are usually covered in black grime by lunch. We keep a small stove in the back to make coffee. Sometimes the rain comes down so hard we have to stop everything and pull the tarps over the stock to keep it from getting too much rust. We aren't trying to be the biggest supplier in the city, just a reliable spot in Mathikere where you can get what you need without a lot of waiting. It’s a simple business, run by people who know their way around a hacksaw and a weighing scale.
