Karnataka Tent House

Karnataka Tent House is located near the junction of M G Palya Road and Begur Road in Bommanahalli. We handle things for events and functions. We have a lot of stuff stored away—poles, fabric, chairs, and all that. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things in and out of trucks. The yard is usually quite messy because there is always something coming back from a party or going out to a wedding. We don’t have a fancy office. Most of the time we are outside checking the inventory or loading the vans. It’s dusty work. The traffic in Bommanahalli is usually quite bad, so we have to plan our trips carefully. We’ve been serving this neighborhood for years. People just walk in when they have a family function coming up. We write everything down in a big book. We don’t use computers for much. It’s a family-run thing, mostly. My brothers and I take turns managing the crew. Some days we are up very early to set things up before the sun gets too hot. Other nights we are working late to tear everything down. It’s just the nature of the business. We don't do much marketing. The neighbors know we are here. If someone needs a tent, they just come find us. We try to be helpful and get things done on time. It’s a lot of physical work, but it keeps us busy throughout the year.
