Our place is located at the Kshdc Complex, right at No.45 Mahatma Gandhi Road. It’s a busy part of town. Karnataka State Handicrafts Dev Corp Ltd is a bit of a mouthful, so most people just know us by the building or the crafts we keep inside. We have a lot of items from all over the state. There are wood carvings, silks, and metalwork sitting on the shelves. It’s quite a large space, but it still feels a bit crowded because there is so much to see. We spend our days checking inventory and talking to the artisans who bring their work in. Some of them have been coming here for decades. It’s a bit of a hub for people who still do things the old way. The air in the complex smells a bit like sandalwood and old paper. We don't really do the whole high-pressure sales thing. We just let people walk around and look at the stuff. If they want something, they buy it. If not, they just enjoy the view. Working on MG Road means there is always noise from the street, but we’ve gotten used to it. The staff here is mostly local folks who have been around for a long time. We know where everything is, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. It’s just how we run things here at the complex day after day.
