We are located at No.92 on 6th Main Road in Chamarajpet. It’s a nice part of Bangalore, quite old and full of big trees. We’re pretty close to the Uma Theater, so on weekends we get people stopping in before or after a movie to get some chocolates or a bottle of juice. The store has been in the family for a long time. The shelves are filled with all the usual groceries like dals, spices, and cleaning stuff. We also keep some plastic buckets and brooms hanging near the entrance. The floor is made of old-style red tiles that we sweep every morning. It’s a steady kind of work. We know the families around here, and we’ve seen their kids grow up and start coming in on their own to buy candy or school pens. We don't have any fancy signs or bright neon lights. It’s just a plain storefront with the name painted on a board above the door. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit mixed up, and we have to spend a Sunday afternoon sorting through the pulses and grains to keep things tidy. It’s a quiet existence for the most part. We like the rhythm of Chamarajpet and how the street wakes up slowly in the morning. We aren't trying to compete with the big supermarkets; we just provide what the neighbors need for their kitchens every day. It’s enough for us to keep going and stay involved in the community. It's a good place to be.
