Kannan Metal Works

We've been running Kannan Metal Works from Lakshmi Building on J.C. Road for quite some time now. If you know the area, we're right across from the K.N. Guruswamy petrol bunk. It's a busy spot, but we like it here. My father started things out, and now we just keep the machines running every day. We handle mostly small and medium metal jobs that come our way. People usually just drop in with a sketch or a part that needs fixing. The shop isn't fancy, just a lot of tools and the smell of cut iron. We spend most of our daylight hours at 14, Lakshmi Building, making sure orders get done. Sometimes the noise from the road is a bit much, but you get used to it. We don't really do much talking, mostly just focused on the work at hand. If someone needs something welded or cut to size, they usually find us through word of mouth. It's a 2nd A Cross address, so it can be a bit tricky to spot if you aren't looking, but we're always there. We try to be fair with the work we do. It’s just how we make a living. Nothing more to it than getting the metal shaped right and making sure it holds up. Some days are packed with work, and others we just tidy up the bench and wait for the next person to walk in. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the shop and our tools.
