About Kamal Steel And Metal Corporation – Metals & Minerals in Bengaluru
The Ramakrishna Building at 41282 Narasimharaja road is where we spend our days. It is a noisy part of town because of all the heavy vehicles moving along NR Road, but we are used to the rumble by now. Kamal Steel And Metal Corporation is squeezed in between a couple of other hardware shops that have been here just as long as we have. Inside, the air always smells a bit like iron and old grease. We have stacks of inventory piled up high against the walls, and the concrete floor is a bit uneven from years of heavy crates being dragged across it. It is not the kind of place where you would want to wear your best clothes. My desk is tucked in the back corner where it is slightly quieter, though the phone seems to ring constantly. There is a small staff of us, and we spend a lot of time checking shipping lists and making sure the loads are ready for the morning transport. The building itself is quite old, with narrow stairs and some wiring that looks a bit messy along the ceiling. We do not have any fancy displays or a reception area. If someone comes in, they just walk right up to the counter and we talk through the noise. Lunch is usually eaten quickly at our desks while we watch the traffic outside the window. It is hard, dusty work, but it keeps us busy. (245 words)
