If you know where the Rajeshwari Theater is on Old Airport Road, then you’re pretty close to Kalapurna Steel & Engg. Pvt. Ltd. We are situated right there in Konena Agrahara. It’s a busy part of town, so the traffic can be a real headache in the mornings. I usually try to get in early just to avoid the worst of it. Our building is a bit older, but it serves its purpose for the steel and engineering work we handle. There is always a lot of clanging and banging going on because of the steel pipes and sheets being moved. We have some heavy machinery that takes up most of the floor space. It’s not the quietest place to spend eight hours a day, that’s for sure. I spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the stacks of paperwork on my desk. We don’t bother much with decorating the place. It’s mostly just metal, tools, and a couple of desks. Sometimes people stop by just because they saw the sign while heading to the theater area. We just give them a nod and get back to whatever we were doing. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t do anything fancy, just the daily grind of steel work and making sure everything is measured right. It keeps us busy enough.
