K K Tent Houses

Out here in Vidyaranyapura at number 78, K K Tent Houses keeps pretty busy with all the heavy lifting. Our day mostly involves moving big stacks of folded fabric and long metal poles that clatter together when we move them. It is hard work, especially when the weather isn't helping and the humidity is high. We store everything in a space that feels a bit cramped when the inventory is all back from a job. The floors are concrete and usually have some scuff marks from the crates being dragged around. We spend a lot of time checking the ropes and making sure the canvas isn't torn before it goes back out. It’s not a quiet place because there is always someone loading or unloading a truck nearby. The neighbors know us by the sound of the gates opening early in the morning. We don't have a fancy office, just a small table with a bunch of notebooks where we scribble down dates and addresses. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and we take a break sitting on the edge of the truck. The work is mostly manual, and our clothes usually have some dirt on them by noon. It's just a straightforward business where we focus on getting the gear where it needs to go. We’ve been at this location for a good while, and it feels like home now despite the heavy work.
