K Babu Mutton Stall

We’ve been here in Neelasandra for quite a while now. Most days start way before the sun is even up, usually around 4:30 or 5:00 in the morning. You get used to the cold air and the quiet streets before the Baroda Pristage area starts waking up. K Babu Mutton Stall isn't a big fancy place with glass windows or air conditioning. It’s just a regular shop where we do the work. The floor gets washed down many times a day because that is just how it has to be when you deal with meat. We have the same chopping blocks we've used for years, worn down in the middle from all the cutting. Customers come in, some we know by name, others just point at what they want for their Sunday biryani. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. People find us because they live nearby or their neighbor told them we have what they need. Sometimes the traffic on the road outside gets really bad and it’s hard for the supply trucks to pull up, but we manage. It’s just me and a couple of boys helping out. We don’t have a website or any of that stuff. If you want to see what we have, you just walk in. The scale is old but it works fine. We just try to get through the day and make sure the shop is clean before we lock up at night.
