Jindal South West Steels Ltd

We are based over at S-16 in Steel House, which is inside the Vidyanagar Township. It’s right in the village of Torengallu in the Bellary district of Karnataka. Working here is a bit different because the whole township is built around the steel industry. You wake up, walk to the office, and you’re surrounded by the work. It’s a big area, but our specific spot in Steel House is where we handle the Jindal South West Steels side of things. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have some metal desks and old chairs. It’s a functional space for people who deal with heavy industry. The weather in Bellary is usually quite hot and dry, so we appreciate the shade when we can get it. Most of our day involves talking to the engineers or checking on production numbers. It’s a lot of routine, but it keeps the plant moving. We don’t have any marketing people here, so what you see is what you get. We’re just a bunch of people doing our jobs in a industrial town. We have our tea breaks, we talk about the local news, and we make sure the work is finished on time. It’s a practical life. There’s no need for big words or polished stories about what we do. We just work with steel.
