Jhawar Steel Corporation

Down here in Ganigarpet, things move pretty fast and it gets quite dusty with all the materials moving around the streets. Jhawar Steel Corporation is located on Gangamma Chari Street in Mothi Nagar. It’s one of those narrow streets where you have to be careful how you park your truck or you’ll end up blocking everyone else trying to get through. We handle a lot of steel items every day. It’s heavy work and my hands are usually covered in some kind of grit or grease by noon. The shop isn't much to look at, just a place to store our stock and talk to customers who come by looking for specific items for their construction projects. We've been in this spot for a long time, and we know the neighborhood very well. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if you’re not from this side of the city. We have a lot of metal sitting around, so it can get pretty hot in the summer months inside the shop. We don't really do the whole office thing with air conditioning and fancy revolving chairs. It’s more about the iron and steel and getting it loaded up for whoever needs it. Some days are much busier than others, especially when a big order comes in and we have to move everything around to find what’s sitting at the bottom of the pile. It’s the work we do and we just stick to what we know best, which is metal. Most people find us by word of mouth in the market. We just keep our heads down and work.
