Jayalaxmi Transport Co operates out of the Roopa Complex on Gurudwara Road in Chamrajpet. Our office is at 260/1, and it’s a fairly active spot given the nature of the transport business. If you walk into the complex, you’ll find us surrounded by logbooks and schedules. The area around Gurudwara Road is always humming with the sound of trucks and loading crews. We’ve been handling transport for a long time, mostly moving commercial goods for various clients who need stuff shifted across the city or further out. It is a lot of coordination. We spend hours talking to drivers, checking routes, and making sure the loads are secured properly. It’s not a glamorous job. There is a lot of grease, dust, and long hours involved. Sometimes a truck breaks down or the traffic in Chamrajpet makes us late, and we just have to deal with it as it happens. We don’t have fancy software for everything; a lot of it is still done with notebooks and knowing the drivers by name. We like being in this part of town because it’s where all the logistics happen. People stop by the office to settle bills or ask about rates for a trip. We just give them a straight answer based on what we know about the fuel and the distance. It’s a busy life, but we’re used to the pace of the transport world by now and just keep at it.
