Jayalaxmi Roadlines

Being out here at the 18 km mark on Tumkur Road means we see a lot of traffic. Our spot in Badanayakanahalli is basically where all the heavy lifting happens for Jayalaxmi Roadlines. It's a busy yard, and most days it feels like there’s never enough space for all the trucks. We handle a lot of transport stuff going in and out of Nelamangala. The roads around M N Halli can be a bit of a headache with the construction and the rain, but we manage to keep the lorries moving. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls to drivers to see where they’ve reached. My brother and I take turns managing the schedules, though sometimes the schedules go out the window when a tire blows or the highway is blocked. It's not a quiet job. You hear the engines idling all night sometimes. We’ve been set up here for quite some time now, and most of the regulars know exactly where to find us off the main road. We keep a simple office, mostly just files and a few chairs for the drivers to rest. It's dusty and loud, but that's just how the transport business goes. We don't do much fancy talking, we just focus on getting the loads from one point to the next without too much trouble along the way. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks down, but the work never really stops for long.
