Jayalakshmi Transport Service

If you are heading down Gokula Tent Road, you will find us right opposite the MS Ramaiah Memorial Hall. We are at number 3, on the main road. Jayalakshmi Transport Service has been sitting in this same spot for years now. It’s a busy road, especially when there are events happening at the hall across the street. We deal with trucks and moving things from one place to another. It is heavy work. There is always someone checking tire pressure or looking over a manifest in the small office out front. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. Mostly just some calendars on the wall and a few chairs for when the drivers take a break. My father started this, and now we just keep it going as best as we can. We move everything from household goods to construction materials for the sites around the city. The rain sometimes slows things down, especially during the monsoon months when the roads get muddy. We usually have a lot of crates stacked up near the entrance. If you need to find us, look for the big blue gates. Someone is almost always there, even late in the evening. It’s not a complicated business, just moving stuff from point A to point B and making sure the trucks stay running. It keeps us occupied and provides for our families.
