We've been here on Gangamachari Street in Mothi Nagar for a while now. Selling steel isn't exactly fancy work, but it's what we do every day. People come by the shop when they're building something or fixing a gate. We keep a lot of stock in the yard, mostly just the standard stuff people need for construction around here. It gets dusty and loud with the trucks coming in and out, especially since Mothinagar can be pretty tight for space. If you walk down the street, you'll see us there at number 7. My cousin helps out with the loading, and we try to get things moved as fast as possible so the drivers aren't waiting too long. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. We deal with all sorts of people, from big contractors to a neighbor who just needs one or two pieces. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit messy, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. It’s a family-run kind of setup. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk in the corner where we keep the bills and a kettle for tea. Usually, we're open early because the work starts with the sun. It's just a regular local business doing its thing on this side of town. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but the demand for good steel stays the same. The yard can get a bit muddy when it rains, but we keep the gates open anyway.
