We’ve been running Janata Lorry Suppliers out of Yeshwantpur for a long time. Our spot is at number 9, right in the middle of all the action. If you know Yeshwantpur, you know it’s the main hub for trucks and transport in this part of the city. There’s always the sound of engines and people shouting instructions to drivers. We deal with all sorts of lorries and moving goods from one place to another. It’s a dusty and loud business, but we like it here. The office is just a small room where we keep our logs and talk to the drivers who come in. We don't have any fancy computers or tracking systems like the big companies do. We mostly rely on our phones and the people we’ve known for decades. Sometimes a truck breaks down or a delivery is late because of the traffic on the highway, and we just have to deal with it as best as we can. It’s not the kind of job where you sit in an air-conditioned room all day. We are out there on the yard quite a bit, checking the loads and making sure the lorries are ready to go. We’ve seen the market change a lot over the years, but the basic work of moving stuff hasn’t changed much. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep the wheels moving for the local businesses that need us.
