Jagadish Steels

Jagadish Steels is at Shop No. 460 on Magadi Main Road in the Kamakshipalya area. It is a loud part of town with all the trucks and motorcycles going by all day long. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things pretty high to make everything fit. If you come by, you’ll likely see us moving things around to get to a piece of metal at the bottom of a pile. It’s heavy work and we are usually worn out by the end of the day. The floor is concrete and always has a bit of metal shavings or oil on it, so you have to be careful where you walk. We have a small desk where we do the billing, but it's mostly covered in old notebooks and metal samples. We don't use much in the way of high-tech gadgets here. We prefer using a simple calculator and a pen. Most of our customers are builders or local contractors who need something quickly for a job nearby. We try to be helpful, even if we are in the middle of unloading a delivery. Sometimes we have to close for an hour if we all need to go out for a job or a quick bite to eat. It is just a basic shop running day to day. We don't have any big plans to expand, we just want to keep doing what we do and paying our bills on time. It is a noisy life but it is ours.
