J Bar

Magrath Road is always busy, especially around 80 Feet Road 5 where J Bar is located. If you’ve ever walked by, you’ve probably heard the music coming from inside. It’s not one of those quiet places where you can hear a pin drop. We keep the lights low because it hides the scratches on the tables and makes people feel a bit more relaxed after they’ve had a long day at work. The bar itself is pretty old, made of thick wood that’s been polished so many times it’s starting to look a bit uneven. We get all sorts of people, from young kids just starting their first jobs to older guys who have been coming here since we first opened. It gets hot in here when the room is full, even with the fans going full blast. We don't have any fancy signs or anything like that. Just the name and the door. Sometimes we run out of certain things on the menu, and people just pick something else without making a fuss. The staff is mostly just a few of us who have known each other for a long time. We handle the spills and the loud talkers as they come. It’s a simple setup, nothing too complicated. If you're looking for us, look for the spot with the most bikes parked outside on the curb.
