About Institute Of Magic & Allied Arts – Event & Planning in Bengaluru
Our place, the Institute Of Magic & Allied Arts, is situated in the M I D C area of Bannerghatta, specifically near Gavali Mata Chowk at 750/3. It’s an unusual spot for an institute like ours, surrounded by more industrial-looking buildings. Inside, it’s a bit of a different world. We have shelves filled with odd props, old boxes, and things that most people wouldn’t recognize. It’s not a polished school with rows of desks. Instead, it’s more of a workshop where we practice and teach. The General Block in M I D C can be a bit dusty, but we have enough space to move around. We spend a lot of time working on sleight of hand or figuring out how a new trick is supposed to go. It takes a lot of patience, and the room is often quiet except for the sound of cards shuffling or someone explaining a move. We’ve been at Gavali Mata Chowk for a while, and the locals are used to seeing us carry strange looking packages in and out. It’s a very hands-on environment. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who really know their craft. Classes happen at odd hours, and sometimes we stay late just to get a performance right. It’s not about being a big corporation. It is just about keeping these arts going in our own way. We keep the doors open and just focus on the practice.
