In Leather

If you head over to the industrial suburb in Yeshwanthpur, you’ll find us at 49/5 on Ullas Talkies Road. In Leather has been in this spot for a good bit now. It’s an area where people actually make things, so it can get pretty noisy with trucks and people moving materials around. Our space isn't a showroom with bright lights and fancy carpets. It’s more of a workspace where the smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk through the door. We have hides stacked up and tools laid out on the benches. Some days the heat in the suburb is tough, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. We aren't trying to be the biggest outfit in town. We just handle the leather work and make sure it’s done right before it leaves the building. The road outside can get quite jammed up with traffic from the nearby talkies and other factories, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. Most of our time is spent checking the quality of the skins or cutting patterns. It’s hands-on work that takes some patience. We aren't much for sitting behind a computer all day. We’d rather be on the floor working with the material. It’s just a regular shop where we do our thing and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s hard work, but we are used to it.
