You can find us at 89 Mahathma Gandhi Road, right near the Anil Kumble Circle. We are in the Kannan Building. It’s a great spot because it’s so central, but it means it’s always noisy outside. Inside the shop, it smells like wood and polish. We have different pieces of furniture sitting around—tables, chairs, cabinets. Some are finished, some are still being worked on. We move things around a lot to make space. It’s not a perfectly laid out showroom. It’s more of a place where things happen. We have some carpenters who have been with us for a long time. They know their way around a piece of teak or rosewood. Sometimes the showroom floor gets a bit dusty from the work happening in the back. We just wipe it down and keep going. Customers come in and sit on the sofas to see if they like them. We don’t follow people around; we just let them look at their own pace. MG Road is always packed, so we see a lot of people just wandering in to escape the heat. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit narrow. We’ve been here long enough that people use us as a landmark. It’s just a furniture shop run by people who like making things that last. No fancy sales pitches here. We just show you what we have and tell you how it was made. We keep our doors open.
