Hsbc Bank (Dst)

We’re the DST team for HSBC over here in Ramamurthy Nagar, Bangalore. Our spot is at 61/1 Jyothinilaya, 2nd Cross, Chinnappa Layout. It’s not like those big, fancy branches you see in the middle of the city. We’re more of a local outpost for the bank. We spend a lot of time out and about, meeting people where they are instead of waiting for them to come to us. When we’re in the office, it’s mostly just us catching up on paperwork and making sure all the files are in the right order. It’s a bit cramped in there when everyone is in at the same time. We deal with bank stuff, like opening accounts and things like that. It’s serious work because it’s people’s money we are talking about, so we try to be very careful. We don’t wear suits every single day unless we have a really big meeting. Usually, it’s just casual clothes and a lot of coffee to keep us going. The neighborhood is nice and pretty quiet compared to the main roads. We know the guy who sells tea around the corner and he’s a good man. We aren't some big faceless corporation when you actually sit down and talk to us. We’re just the people working the Bangalore beat. Sometimes the computer systems go down and we have to apologize for the delay. It’s frustrating for everyone involved. But we just keep at it and get it done. That’s how we work. Just a regular team trying to get things done in the 560016 area.
