Hind Metals

I’ve been at Hind Metals here in Kalasipalyam New Extention for more years than I can count on my fingers. The shop is at Nikol 1/15 A. It’s not a fancy place, mostly just a lot of metal sheets leaning against the walls and the smell of iron in the air. People walk by all day since it’s a busy area. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to shout to hear each other over the engines. We start early, usually before the sun gets too hot, and we stay until the work is done. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grey dust from the materials we handle. It isn't the cleanest job, but it’s what we do. We don't have a big office or anything corporate. Just a desk in the corner with a pile of old receipts and a phone that rings when you least expect it. Most of the folks who come in are regulars from around the neighborhood. They know where to find us because of the big stacks of scrap near the door. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks that have been there since I started. We don't mind them much. It’s just how the place is. Sometimes we sit out front for a tea break when things slow down. It’s a simple living. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just handle the metal that comes through the door and try to keep things organized enough to find what we need for the day.
