Hevea Craft

Hevea Craft is our workshop and store out on the Outer Ring Road in Mahadevapura. We are at number ten. If you know the Ring Road, you know it’s one of the busiest places in Bangalore. The dust and the noise from the trucks and cars are something we deal with every single day. We work with wood and crafts, so there’s always sawdust on the floor and the smell of varnish in the air. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We aren't sitting in an air-conditioned office all day. Most of our time is spent out back or showing people the pieces we’ve finished. The building is a bit industrial, which fits what we do. It’s not a place for fancy clothes. We usually have grease or wood stain on our hands. People find us because they’re looking for something specific that isn't mass-produced in a factory. Mahadevapura has grown so much lately, and there are big tech parks all around us now. It’s a strange mix of old-fashioned crafting and the high-tech world just down the street. We just stick to what we know. The space is filled with tools and raw materials. We don't have a big polished sales pitch. We just show people the work we’ve done and let them decide for themselves. It’s a noisy, busy, and messy way to live, but we like it. The rain sometimes leaks through the old roof, but we just move the wood around.
