Headhunters

Headhunters is based at 250/A. It’s a small place, really. We don’t have a big lobby or anything like that. It’s mostly just us at our desks, talking on the phones and looking through stacks of papers. Being at 250/A means we are close to some other shops, so there is always a bit of noise from the street coming through the windows. We spend a lot of our time trying to figure out who might be a good fit for different jobs people tell us about. It’s a lot of listening and a lot of note-taking. Sometimes the ink in the pens runs out right when you are writing something important. We aren’t a huge corporation with floors of people. It’s just a small team of us trying to get through the day’s tasks. We drink a lot of water and sometimes leave the radio on low in the background. If you came by, you’d see a few computers, some half-empty coffee mugs, and plenty of notebooks. We don't put on any acts here. It’s just work. People call us, we talk to them, and we see what can be done. The building is a bit older and the stairs can be a bit creaky if you walk too fast. We’ve got a small fan for when it gets stuffy. It’s an honest way to spend the day. Most people who come to 250/A are just looking for a bit of help with their next step. We try to be helpful without making a big fuss about it. We just sit here and do the job.
