If you head down Rander Road and look for number 6 in Bapuji Nagar, that’s where you’ll find Haris Steel Traders. We have been operating out of this small yard for a good while. Dealing in steel is a heavy job, literally. Most of our day is spent moving rods and sheets around. It’s a noisy business, especially when the trucks are being loaded up. Bapuji Nagar is a tight area, so we have to be careful about how we stack everything so there's room for the vehicles to move. We don’t have a big sales team or anything like that. It’s usually just a couple of us here handling the orders that come in. People from around the neighborhood know where we are. We don't do much fancy advertising; we just stay open and wait for the regulars to stop by. The weather can be a bit of a problem because steel gets hot in the sun and slippery in the rain, but we've gotten used to it over the years. Our shop is just a basic building with some storage space. It’s not the cleanest place in the world because of all the metal dust and rust, but it’s a working yard. We keep the scales ready and try to get the weighing done as fast as possible so people can get on their way. It’s simple work but it’s what we know how to do.
