Down in the Kiadb Industrial Area in Hoskote, things are a bit spread out. We are at Plot No 11-B in Bilgumbe. The drive out here takes some time, especially if the highway is clogged, but once you get to the Roxy Flour Mills, you know you’re close. At Halda Office Systems, we spend our time surrounded by metal frames and upholstery fabric. It’s an industrial vibe because that’s exactly where we are. The air often smells like grain from the flour mills nearby, which is a bit unusual for an industrial park. Our building is a sturdy one, built to handle the weight of all the office chairs and desks we keep in stock. We don't have any fancy signage or a glowing neon light. It’s just a functional building with a big rolling door. Inside, the lighting is bright and fluorescent. We have a small corner where we keep the records and a computer that’s seen better days. The team here is small, and we mostly just talk about the work or the weather. Sometimes we see a few stray dogs wandering the industrial plots, and we give them some water. It’s a quiet existence compared to the city center. We just focus on the assembly and the loading, making sure everything is ready for the trucks that head out to the city. It’s hard work, but we are used to it.
