Hajira Steel

Running a steel business at 23 BTM Layout Phase III, specifically in the Gidc Industrial Area Vatva, means you get used to the sound of metal hitting metal pretty fast. It’s an industrial zone, so it isn't the quietest place to spend your day. Hajira Steel has been in this spot for a while now. The air usually smells like iron and grease, and our clothes usually end up with a bit of soot on them by lunchtime. It is a practical sort of place. We have stacks of material everywhere and the crane is almost always moving something heavy around the yard. We don't really do much in the way of decoration. The office is just a small room with some old chairs where we sit down to talk about orders. It gets hot in the summer, especially with all the metal around, but we just keep the water bottles full and keep working. Sometimes customers come in with sketches on scraps of paper, and we look at what we have in stock to see if it matches. It isn't a high-tech setup. It’s just about having the right stuff when someone needs it for a construction job or a repair. We stay busy enough that the days go by fast. Most people who work here live nearby, so it’s a local crowd that knows the value of hard work.
