H. M. Tools & Metal Mart

H. M. Tools & Metal Mart is located right on S.P. Road. If you have ever been down this street, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops and people carrying boxes. We are at No. 59, and we have been using Post Box No. 6507 for our mail for a long time. The shop is full of metal smells and rows of tools. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep everything on hand. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in the world. We still use old ledgers sometimes and know where every single nut and bolt is kept without looking it up on a computer. Customers come in looking for specific things, and we just find it for them. It’s loud outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the counter. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or anything. We just sell tools and metal. That is the whole story. Some days the heat is a bit much, but we keep the fans going. It’s a local way of doing things. We’ve seen the street change over the years, but our shop stays mostly the same. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first person to walk in. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough throughout the week. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who come by.
