You can find H K G N Bedding House at number 101 in Shivaji Nagar, right in the Ramnagar area. We are very close to the Khazi Mohalla Masjid, so we often hear the calls to prayer throughout the day. Our shop is full of mattresses, pillows, and all kinds of cotton stuffing. It is a very soft place to be, though it gets a bit dusty with all the cotton flying around. We spend a lot of our time restuffing old pillows or making new beds for families nearby. It is a traditional business that has been in the family for a while. We don't use big machines for everything; a lot of it is done by hand with needles and thread. The street outside is usually very narrow and busy with people walking to the mosque or the market. We keep the shop doors open to let some air in, especially when we are working on large orders. Customers usually come in and pick out the fabric they like, and then we get to work. It takes some time to get a mattress just right, so we don't rush it. We are just local people making things for other local people. It is not a big corporate store, just a small corner shop where we know most of our neighbors by name. We have been here for years and hope to stay.
