Our workshop is situated in Bellandur Village on the Outer Ring Road, specifically at C V Raman Nagar Central 3, Soul Space Spirit. We are right opposite the Subramani Temple, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. The location is quite busy because of the main road, so there is always the sound of cars and buses in the background. Inside our space, the air usually smells like fresh cut timber and wood polish. We have all our tools laid out on heavy benches, and there are stacks of wood leaning against every available wall. We spend most of our time cutting, sanding, and assembling different pieces. It is a dusty job, and we all end up with sawdust on our clothes by the end of the shift. We are not a fancy design studio with a lot of computers; we do most of our work by hand or with traditional machines. The floor is covered in wood shavings, and we only sweep it out at the very end of the day. It is a small team of us here, and we have worked together for a long time. We usually have the big doors open to let the air circulate, even though it lets in the noise from the temple and the street. Sometimes people stop by just to see what we are making or to talk about a project. We just keep our heads down and focus on the wood in front of us.
