Guru Ragavendra Flower Stall

We are right in the middle of the action at Shop Number 340 in the City Market Complex. If you have ever been to SKR Market in Bangalore, you know it’s a crazy place. It’s loud, crowded, and smells like a mix of everything. Guru Ragavendra Flower Stall is our little spot in all that chaos. We get here very early, usually before the sun is even up, to get the fresh stock in. Flowers are a tricky business because they don't last long, so we are always moving. We don't have a website or a social media manager. We just have flowers and a lot of customers who need them for temple, weddings, or just home. Our hands are usually stained with sap or wet from the water we spray on the petals. It’s hard work on your feet all day, but we’ve been doing it for years. People come to us because they know where we are. We don't use fancy packaging unless someone asks for it. Mostly it’s just tying up garlands or wrapping roses in old newspapers. It’s the way market life is. We know the other stall owners and we watch each other's backs. It’s a community. We don't have a big corporate philosophy. We just sell flowers and try to make sure they are fresh for whoever buys them. It’s an honest living and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
