Grow Wood Furniture

Grow Wood Furniture is located in Mathikere, not far from the Ganesha Temple. It's a noisy place because there's always a saw running or someone is sanding down a piece of wood. We started the shop because we liked working with our hands and seeing what we could build. There is a lot of dust everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. That’s just the life of a carpenter. We make chairs, tables, and whatever else people ask for. We use real wood, and sometimes the grain doesn't go the way you want it to. You just have to work with it. The shop is near the temple, so we hear the bells and the people passing by all the time. It’s a good spot. People usually come in with a rough idea or a drawing on a piece of paper, and we see what we can do. We aren't a big factory. It’s just a few of us. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of our stuff is just sitting there in various stages of being finished. Sometimes a project takes longer if the wood needs more time to dry or if we run out of a specific hinge. We just do the work day by day and try to make things that last a while. It's hard on the hands but we like the result.
