Grandmothers Recipies is tucked away at No.122 on 1st A Cross in Koramangala 8th Block. If you know where Bathnio High School is, you’re basically there. We’ve always felt that the name of the place says enough about what we do. It’s a small operation, really. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just us in the kitchen trying to make things taste like they used to. Being near a school means there’s always a bit of noise and energy around, which we quite like. The 1st A Main area is a nice part of town, even if the parking can be a bit of a mess sometimes. Inside our space, it’s mostly about big pots and the smell of spices being ground up. We keep a lot of old notes on how to mix the masalas, trying to stick to the ways we were taught by the older generation. It’s not about being trendy or having a modern menu that nobody understands. We just cook things that people recognize and feel comfortable eating. The building itself is plain, and we spend most of our time in the back where the heat is. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and they know us by the smells coming out of the kitchen every morning. It's just a simple business run by people who care about food and feeding others.
