Grace Fabrications

Grace Fabrications is located right on Marenahalli Kanakapura Road at number 5. If you walk past, you will probably hear the sound of metal hitting metal or the hiss of a welding torch before you actually see the sign. It is a gritty kind of place, which is exactly how a fabrication shop should be. We have got piles of iron rods and sheets leaning against the walls, and the floor is usually covered in a fine layer of iron dust. We spend our days measuring twice and cutting once, or at least that is what we try to do. Sometimes a piece doesn't fit and we have to start over, which is frustrating but that is how it goes when you work with your hands. The traffic on Kanakapura Road is always heavy, so there is a constant hum of buses and cars in the background while we work. We don't have an air-conditioned office; we just have a few fans that move the hot air around while we are bending pipes or fixing frames. It is hard work and it gets hot, especially during the summer months when the metal feels like it is holding onto all the heat. We just keep our heads down and finish the gates or the grills that people have asked us to make. It is a practical life, and we like the feeling of making something solid with our own hands before we close up for the night.
