Goutham Telecom is right there at 32 in Banashankari 2nd Stage. It’s a busy area and we’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people walking past the door every morning. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a standard storefront with some posters in the window that have been there too long. Inside, it smells a bit like electronics and the tea we drink in the afternoons. We handle a lot of recharges and SIM card issues. It’s funny how people get so stressed when their phone stops working for even ten minutes. We sit behind the counter and listen to the same traffic noises all day. There’s a particular squeak in the door that we keep meaning to fix but never get around to it. Usually, we are busy sorting out bills or explaining data plans to someone who’d rather be doing anything else. It can get hot in the summer because the fan just moves the warm air around, but we stay busy. We have stools for people to sit on while they wait, though most people just stand and look at their watches. It's a simple life running a telecom shop in this part of town. We don’t do anything fancy, just the basic stuff people need to stay connected to their families. We usually wrap up around eight at night when the neighborhood starts to quiet down.
