Godavari Iron & Steel

Our yard is located in the Peenya Industrial Area, specifically at Spl. N-19 on the 1st Stage Main Road. Being near TVS Cross makes it easy for the trucks to find us, which is important when you're moving heavy iron and steel. It’s not a clean place—there’s metal dust everywhere and the ground is mostly gravel and grease. But that’s how a steel yard should look. We spend most of our time outside or in the small office shed near the gate. It’s loud because of the cranes and the trucks idling, so you have to yell a bit to be heard. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just sell metal to people who need it for building things. Most of our customers are from around the industrial area too. We know the regulars by name and how they like their stuff loaded. It’s a lot of physical work, checking gauges and making sure the weights are right on the scales. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, but we stay open regardless. The office is cluttered with old ledgers and a computer that’s seen better days. We don't care much for fancy furniture as long as the steel is moving and the orders are correct. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually take our breaks when the sun gets too hot out in the yard. We’ve been here since the area was just starting to get busy.
