Gnr Kalyana Mantapa

We’ve had a lot of events here over the years. People in the 560041 area code usually know where we are. It’s a big space meant for weddings and other gatherings. We don’t do anything too fancy, just provide the hall and make sure things are in order. Jayanagar is a quiet part of town, but it gets busy when there’s a function. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after one event and getting ready for the next one. It’s hard work keeping a mantapa running. My family helps out sometimes. We’ve seen many families come through these doors. Sometimes the 18th Main road gets a bit packed with cars. That's just how it is in Bangalore. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People mostly just walk in or call to ask if the date is free. We stay here most of the day. The building is old but we try to keep it looking okay. It serves its purpose for the local community. There isn't much else to say. It’s just a hall in Jayanagar. We open up, let the people in, and close up when they’re done. That’s our daily routine here and it works for us.
