Our shop, Giri Textiles, is located at 1/1 Sri Ayyappa Complex on Dinnur Road. We are right opposite the Pushpanjali Theatre, so on movie days, the whole area gets really crowded and loud. It’s a lively place to work. We have been in RT Nagar for quite some time now. The complex itself is an older building, and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we are still here. Inside, it’s mostly stacks of cloth piled up high. We try to keep it organized, but by the end of the week, things usually get a bit messy. It’s just me and a couple of assistants most days. We handle walk-ins and also some larger orders that go out to other parts of the city. The traffic on Dinnur Road is something else, especially during peak hours. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background while we measure out fabric for customers. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We know our customers by name, and they know us. We drink a lot of coffee from the stall down the street. Sometimes we stay open late if there’s a big project we need to finish. It’s just how we do things here. No big secrets, just a lot of cutting and folding and keeping track of what’s in stock. It keeps us busy and out of trouble.
