Giri Mobile Service Centre

The shop on 5th Main Road in JB Block is quite small, honestly. There is barely enough room for three people to stand at once when we are busy. Most of the day is spent looking through a magnifying glass at tiny green boards. Palace Guttahalli Road gets really noisy with all the traffic outside, so we usually have a small radio playing in the back to drown it out. We have stacks of old phone screens and dead batteries in the corner. People bring in phones that have been dropped in water or have cracked glass from falling off a bike. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right part because things change so fast with these brands. We use a lot of tiny screws that always seem to roll off the table if you aren't careful. The lighting isn't the best, but we have those desk lamps to help. It's dusty work even if it looks clean on the outside. We don't really have a fancy waiting area, just a couple of plastic stools near the door. Most regulars know to leave their devices and come back after tea. The 79 building has been here for a while and the walls could use some paint, but we spend all our time on the workbench anyway. It’s a lot of sitting and squinting at screens. We try to finish the repairs by the evening so people can have their phones back for work the next day. It’s a repetitive job but someone has to fix these things.
