We’ve been operating Gingersoft Media out of this spot in Jeppu for a while now. It’s right by the Seminary View, in the Majeela Colony area of Mangalore. The office itself isn’t huge, but it fits all our computers and the few desks we have. Being near the Kankanady Post is handy for when we need to send things out, though most of our work stays on the screens. The weather here in Mangalore can be a bit much, especially during the monsoon when the rain just doesn’t stop hitting the roof. We spend most of our days sitting here, working through different media tasks and keeping the coffee pot going. It is a quiet neighborhood for the most part, except for when the school kids are walking by or someone is moving a motorbike. We don’t really do fancy meetings; usually, we just sit around the main table and figure things out as they come. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan has a little wobble to it, but it works for us. Living and working in Karnataka has its own pace, and we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We just try to keep our heads down and get the daily work finished before the evening humidity gets too heavy. If you walk past the colony, you might see us through the window, just a bunch of people busy at their monitors.
