Our shop is at No.32 Richard Square, right next to Russell Market in Shivaji Nagar. If you know that area, then you already know how packed and lively it gets every single day. It is one of the oldest parts of Bangalore. We have got all sorts of items crammed onto our shelves and in the corners. It can be a bit of a maze inside if you are not used to it. We spend a lot of our morning just dusting things off and putting new stock away. Being next to Russell Market means there is always a loud crowd right outside the door. You can hear the vegetable sellers and the motorbikes from early morning until late evening. We have some regular customers who have been coming to us since they were small children. They come in to look for small gifts or just to say hello while they are doing their errands. We do not have any fancy displays or bright lights. It is just a traditional shop. We handle everything ourselves, from opening the heavy shutters in the morning to locking up at night. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with all the traffic in Shivaji Nagar, so we are always wiping down the glass counters. It is a small business, and it takes a lot of time to keep track of every little thing we have in stock. We just like being in the middle of it all.
