You can find us at Mturu Krupa Bhavan, which is house number 488 in Indira Nagar. We are right near the Indian Overseas Bank, so it is easy to spot if you are looking for it. Geethanjali Colonial Furniture & Artifacts is really just a place where we keep all these old-style pieces and interesting bits we find. It is quite a packed shop. Sometimes you have to squeeze past a heavy colonial wardrobe just to see a small artifact on the shelf. We like the way old things look, so that’s why we started this. It’s not like those modern stores where everything is flat-packed. Here, everything has a bit of weight to it. We spend our mornings cleaning the dust off the wood and rearranging the statues. Being in Indira Nagar means we get a lot of people walking by while they do their banking. We end up chatting a lot about where a certain table came from or how old a mirror might be. It’s a quiet life most days, just us and the furniture. The building itself, Mturu Krupa Bhavan, has been around for a bit too. We don’t do much advertising; people mostly just find us or hear about us from their neighbors. If you like things that have a bit of history or just look different from what you see in big malls, we are usually around to show you what’s currently in the shop. It's a nice way to spend the day, even if the lifting gets heavy.
