We’ve been running Geetha Agencies in Sultanpet for a long time. Our shop is right near the Noor Jahan Hotel, which is a landmark everyone knows around here. It’s a very busy part of town, always crowded with people and scooters. We have to keep the doors open to get a breeze, but that also means a lot of dust comes in. We’re constantly dusting off the shelves. It’s a small space, and we have boxes stacked up almost to the ceiling. Sometimes it’s a bit of a scramble to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we usually know where it’s buried. My wife helps me with the bookkeeping in the evenings when the kids are doing their homework. We don't have a fancy display or anything. It’s just rows of stock and a counter where we talk to people. Sultanpet has a lot of energy, and we enjoy being right in the middle of it. We see the same faces every day, which is nice. We aren't trying to become a huge corporation; we just want to keep the shop going and provide for our family. The hotel next door is great for a quick snack when we don’t have time for a proper lunch. It’s a tough business sometimes, especially with the competition nearby, but we’ve managed to stay afloat by just being ourselves and working hard. We just take it one day at a time and see how things go.
